The concert, which is being produced in association with MTV, will feature performances from Blue, one of the UK’s most successful bands over the past two decades, singer-songwriter Tom Grennan and Mae Muller, one of music’s most exciting new talents.

This year’s Switch-On concert will be played out to a live audience made up of more than 2,000 winners of a free-to-enter ballot. Although the ballot has now closed, there will be a limited number of golden circle tickets going on sale later this month.

The concert and Switch-On moment will also be live streamed to a global audience across MTV and VisitBlackpool channels, and event organisers are planning on having a huge screen on the Tower Festival Headland live streaming the concert.

The 2022 show will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Becca Dudley. It was streamed from 8pm Friday 3rd September. Last year the show was streamed via YouTube here

Becca Dudley  - headline act for the switch on virtual concert for the 2022 Illuminations Switch On

Becca Dudley: Becca is MTV UK’s lead presenter. Becca fronts multiple shows for MTV whilst also covering worldwide music events and festivals including the MTV MIAWS in Mexico City and Tomorrowland in Belgium. Becca isn't just a presenter, you can also find her DJing at major venues and festivals across the world. She is also a keen drummer.

Blue: one of the most successful British bands of the past two decades, are heading to Blackpool for the Illuminations Switch-On concert. The band, aka Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe, will perform at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Friday 2 September ahead of a major arena tour and the release of their brand new album, Heart & Soul on September 9.

Fuse ODG  - virtual concert for the 2022 Illuminations Switch On

Fuse ODG: The Grammy Award and three-time MOBO Award-winning rap star. AKA Nana Richard Abiona. Born in London and raised in Ghana, Fuse returned to London for his secondary education. The stage name "Fuse" comes from his fusion of musical styles, as he is known for his unusual combination of genres such as Afro-pop, hip-hop, R&B, funk and rock. "ODG", meanwhile, stands for 'Off Da Ground'.

Nina Nesbitt  - virtual concert for the 2022 Illuminations Switch On

Nina Nesbitt: Scottish singer-songwriter, she plays the guitar, piano and flute. After hearing Taylor Swift’s Fearless album, she uploaded her first cover to YouTube. The site's positive feedback inspired her to continue writing and recording songs in her bedroom, and uploading the videos to her YouTube channel. She now has over 72 million video views on YouTube! Her new single Colours Of You is out on 23rd August.

Mae Muller  - virtual concert for the 2022 Illuminations Switch On

Mae Muller: Mae Muller, who has taken America by storm and already has more than a billion streams to her name, will perform in The Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Friday 2 September.

Tom Grennan  - virtual concert for the 2022 Illuminations Switch On

Tom Grennan: is an English singer-songwriter from Bedford and is based in London, England. Tom found fame as the guest vocalist on Chase & Status's "All Goes Wrong", which was featured as the Hottest Record on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, and later performed by Grennan on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.
